Alexandros Deligiannis is a motivated data engineer who has valuable contributions in all facets of corporate research and development from data analysis to data engineering. He has a strong mathematical background and more than six years of experience as a data engineer in corporate R&D departments, building personalization services to improve customer experience and increase conversion rate. He is specialized in conducting targeted research on cutting-edge technologies to deploy model-driven applications, designing prototype algorithms, and evaluating the implemented services accordingly. He has published many of his research results to international journals and conferences.
He is currently working as a data engineer and research associate at the Hellenic Institute of Transport (HIT), where he is involved in designing data pipelines, creating RESTful APIs, performing data modeling and analysis, applying machine learning, and forecasting methods, and building interactive dashboards. He has previously worked as a machine learning engineer, and a data science analyst. He has extensive experience in using various tools and technologies, such as Python, Scala, Microsoft Azure, AWS, IBM Cloud, Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, MongoDB, MySQL, and more. He has also designed and implemented ad-hoc customer pilots through A/B testing and GDPR compliant software architectures. He has completed multiple coding projects mainly in Python and R languages. He has a master’s degree in Big data science from Queen Mary University of London (2015-2016) and a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2010-2014). He is also certified by Microsoft Azure.
