Afroditi Stamelou graduated from the Civil Engineering Department of the Faculty of Engineering of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) in 2012. She obtained a M.Sc. in Design, Organization and Management of Transportation Systems and aM.Sc in Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development from the same university in 2011 and 2013, respectively.Since May 2018, she is working as a Research Associate at the Hellenic Institute of Transport /Centre for Research and Technology Hellas. Her main research activitiesare related to the Intelligent Transport Systems and sustainable mobility fields.

She has experience in managing European and national projects in the fields of sustainable mobility, innovation on public transport, energy efficiency and environmental protection with an emphasis on the impact of transport on the environment.In addition, she has participated in the development of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Planfor the Municipality of Thermi and the Polycentric Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan of the Region of Central Macedonia. She has been an associate of the Thessaloniki Urban Transport Authority and the Civil Engineering Department of AUTh and has collaborated at project level with stakeholders and municipalities in the Region of Central Macedonia.She has several publications in national and international scientific Conferences.
