Οn Friday 27 April 2018, the US Ambassador in Greece, Mr. Geoffrey R. Pyatt met with the board of the Thessaloniki Technology Park Management & Development Corporation S.A (TTP) and was informed on the Thess-INTEC initiative and the further development of the Park. The meeting was hosted in the premises of the Hellenic Institute of Transport (HIT) of CERTH. In this framework, the Ambassador visited the research infrastructure of the Institute and discussed with the researchers involved in the “Innovation mega projects” of Thess-INTEC: “Future mobility application & Competence center for logistics”. The Ambassador showed great interest on the scientific and technological achievements that were presented by the smart mobility, intelligent and cooperative transport systems laboratory and the Thessaloniki “test-bed”, as well as for the HIT’s vehicle and road safety technologies and applications while he also had the chance to drive the dynamic driving simulator of the Institute. The Ambassador expressed his appreciation for the technological innovations of HIT and offered to contribute to the further networking of the Institute with corresponding research bodies and companies in the US.
