On Wednesday 28th November 2018 the SUPAIR - “Sustainable Ports in the Adriatic Ionian Region” Project Partners, with representatives from the Ports of Venice, Koper, Thessaloniki and Piraeus and the Hellenic Institute of Transport, visited the Port of Gothenburg, Sweden.
The Port of Gothenburg has been recognized by the Project Partners as “best practice” port regarding sustainable planning and development.
The purpose of the study visit was to deepen the participants’ knowledge on the activities undertaken by the Port of Gothenburg to improve sustainability, visit relevant installations, and discuss with the port experts the problems faced and the solutions considered in the implementation of their sustainability strategy.
