On 5th of April, 2019, the Rector of the University of Piraeus, Professor Angelos Kotios, visited HIT's premises in Thessaloniki, within the framework of the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding between HIT/CERTH, the University of Piraeus and “EXANTAS” Port Training Institute.
During his visit, Professor Kotios, the Director of HIT, Evangelos Bekiaris and the Assoc. Professor of the Department of Maritime Studies of the University of Piraeus and Head of the Department of Maritime and Air Transport, Environmental and Economic Issues of HIT Dr. Maria Boile discussed possible ways of establishing effective cooperation and ensuring the necessary synergies between the entities. Following the discussion, Professor Kotios was invited to visit the Institute's research infrastructure and to drive to the Full Scale Driving Simulator.
