An educational visit of the students of the 3rd Gymnasium of Fryganiotis School was held on Tuesday, May 21st at the premises of HIT/CERTH. The visit took place within the framework of HIT's educational actions for high school and lyceum students in order to contribute to the development of drivers with increased sense of responsibility and to the adoption of good road user behavior by the total of users (pedestrians, cyclists, passengers). During their visit, the students had the opportunity to learn about the latest developments in the field of mobility, gained useful information and participated in presentations using know-how technologies.
The visitors were greeted by Dr. Maria Morfoulaki, while the Deputy Director of the Institute, Georgia Ayfadopoulou has informed the students and their professors about the activities and actions of HIT. The students were particularly excited to participate in the presentation made by HIT personnel members Ms. Maria Chatziathanasiou and Ms. Natalia Konstantinidou regarding the knowledge required for a new driver as well for the tour of car and motorcycle driving simulator offered by HIT’s scientific personnel.
HIT / CERTH (The Hellenic Institute of Transport of the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas) based in Thermi, Thessaloniki, is the main research organization in the field of Transport in Greece, as well as one of the most important and recognized pan-European centers of technology and know-how and reports directly to the General Secretariat for Research and Technology (GSRT), of the Greek Ministry of Culture, Education and Religious Affairs.
