The TRA VISIONS 2022 project has been launched in December 2020 with the aim to organize two competitions for transport research awards to be announced at the TRA Conference in 2022:

• a Young Researcher Competition with the goal of stimulating the interest in the field of sustainable transport among young researchers and students. This  competition is aimed at university and technical institute students pursuing bachelor, master and PhD degrees and represents an opportunity for young researchers to showcase their work on an international stage at the 2022 Transport Research Arena (TRA 2022) event in Lisbon, Portugal.
• a Competition for Senior Researchers in the field of innovative transport concepts based on results only from EU-funded projects. Senior researchers involved in EU-funded projects are encouraged to participate in the competition that will identify and acknowledge leaders that generate impactful research in transport in the EU. Winners will receive awards from EC representatives and will present their work on an international stage.

The competitions cover all modes, including cross modality.
