Project Title: New and flexible modes of electromobility in Southern Aegean
Duration: 30 months (01/10/2020 – 01/03/2023)
Description: The NEMO project, launched in October 2020, aims to introduce and promote e-scooters in the island of Rhodes. This new, flexible, safe and affordable micromobility solution, will meet and serve residents’ and visitors’ daily mobility needs. Also, the project will contribute in raising awareness and will offer training for users in order to promote the right, lawful and safe use of e-scooters, it will develop innovative technologies that will enhance mobility safety and will develop new business models and new mobility services for enhancing tourism experience.
Objectives:
- Reduction of e-scooter accidents
- Develop new mobility services and tourism experiences
- Minimization of traffic congestion in the city of Rhodes
- Minimization of traffic congestion in the city of Rhodes
- Controlled use of e-scooters in urban streets
- Route recording and e-scooter localization in real time
- Boosting of local economy
- Contribution on region’s islands competitiveness as touristic destinations
HIT key role and responsibilities:
- Analyze user, system requirements, possible risks, and use case scenarios
- System design and architecture (Technical specifications, Design and system architecture)
- Development of innovative technologies (sensors for pollution, temperature, noise and vibrations, solar panel and Renewable energy)
- Organization and planning of pilot project plans
- Evaluation of final publication results
- Dissemination actions
